AMWHO Union

The AMWHO Union chapter was founded in 2018 by Kritika Amanjee and Elina Davé. As a newly formed chapter, we are excited for our chapter to grow and expand. Thus far, we have held multiple speaker panels in which professionals and professors have led discussions on public health topics relevant to today's society. We hope to provide a medium through which students can pursue their passion for public health and engage in meaningful discussions with other students of mutual interests.

Lauren Lee

Lauren Lee is a senior and biology major at Union College. Lauren is passionate about global health and how it intersects with law and policy. Lauren represented the nation of Senegal at the 2018 International AMWHO Conference at UNC-Chapel Hill and the nation of Ghana at the 2019 International AMWHO Conference at Emory. Lauren enjoys singing and listening to music in her free time.

Drishti Patel

Hi everyone! Drishti Patel is currently a senior from Aurora, Colorado in the Leadership in Medicine program double majoring in Chemistry and Psychology. She is interested in examining the role of policies on improving health determinants especially as it pertains to the opioid epidemic. Outside of class, Drishti enjoys hiking in the mountains and binge watching The Office.

Bonnie Moon

Bonnie Moon

Bonnie Moon is a senior in the Leadership in Medicine program at Union College majoring in biology and sociology. Bonnie is interested in integrating medicine and public health, as the two realms are becoming increasingly interdisciplinary. In particular, Bonnie is interested in looking at how to increase access to both clinical and preventive care. Apart from AMWHO, Bonnie enjoys cooking Korean food and working out.

Kaylyn Hung

Kaylyn Hung is a senior in the Leadership in Medicine Program double majoring in biology and psychology. Kaylyn is interested in public health and in researching and improving population health indicators. She is particularly interested in the spread of infectious diseases. In her free time, Kaylyn enjoys painting, dancing, and baking.

Kelsey is a junior Cognitive Neuroscience and Spanish & Hispanic Studies major. Public health encompasses the spectrum of her interests: social dynamics, inequity, access to healthcare, and globalization.

Kartik Nath

Kartik Nath is a sophomore neuroscience major from Niskayuna, NY and the sophomore representative for AMWHO Union. Kartik is interested in pursuing public health, specifically working to improve care for patients with neurodegenerative disorders. Kartik's undergraduate research focuses on exercise interventions for patients with Alzheimer’s disease to study cognition. In Kartik's free time, he plays the violin, baseball and tennis, and is the biggest New York Yankees fan!

Dear Prospective Delegates and Esteemed Colleagues,

Thank you for visiting our webpage! My name is Lauren Lee, and I am AMWHO Union's president for the 2019-2020 academic year. It is my privilege to welcome you to AMWHO Union's official website. My fellow executive board members and I are delighted to make your acquaintance. Along with the rest of our chapter, we make up a group of students at a small liberal arts college here in New York's Capitol Region who are passionate about discussing global health and policy. We welcome students from all interests and backgrounds with the hope of growing awareness and interest surrounding global health. Whether you come from a background of engineering, economics, linguistics or pre-health, if you have even the slightest interest in global/public health, we welcome you with open arms and would love to have you come visit us!
